Jack B. Key, Jr.
Jack Key was born in Columbus, Ga., on November 11, 1927. Golf enthusiasts across the southeast have long known Mr. Key and his younger brother, Billy. The Key Cup - inter-club matches between six clubs in the Columbus, Fort Benning and Phoenix City, Ala., area - was named in honor of the Key brothers and their contributions to the sport. Mr. Key won the Georgia State Amateur twice, the Southeastern Amateur twice, and won the Gala Seniors Championship three times. Mr. Key's participation in golf did not stop on the course. He has dedicated himself tirelessly to the game's service. In 1971, he was a co-founder of the Fred Haskins Award. He has been a member of the board of directors of the GSGA, and a board member and golf chairman at Green Island Country Club. He was a board member and golf chairman at the Country Club of Columbus, and served as president from 1965 to 1966. Mr. Key was a co-founder and board member of the Bull Creek Municipal Golf Course of Columbus.

Jack B. Key, Jr., was inducted into the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame on January 18, 1997.
