DeWitt Thompson Weaver, Jr.
DeWitt Thompson Weaver, Jr., was born in Danville, Ky., on September 14, 1939. Since 1965, Mr. Weaver has been a dominant force in the state of Georgia, winning a record seven Georgia PGA Championships, four Georgia Opens, and the Georgia PGA Match Play Championship. While competing on the PGA Tour from 1967 to 1976, he won the PGA Match Play Championship and the Southern Open. His other professional victories include the Atlanta Open, which he won twice, the Dixie PGA, and the Louisiana Open. He won the Georgia PGA Player of the Year Award twice. Mr. Weaver joined the PGA Senior Tour in 1989. Throughout the years, Mr. Weaver has kept three things preeminent in his life: his faith, his family, and his desire to help golfers improve their skills - particularly junior golfers. Mr. Weaver was Head Golf Professional at three well-known Georgia golf courses: Sea Palms, Sky Valley, and Innsbruck.

DeWitt Thompson Weaver, Jr., was inducted into the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame on
January 10, 1998.
